I trained and worked as a Doctor
of Clinical Psychology in London and the South of England. I have 10
years of clinical experience with adults and older adolescents within the NHS, working with individuals and groups within in-patient and
community health care settings. As an ex-pat living in France, I now
have an independent practice offering online clinical psychology
therapy to the English-speaking community.
I take a client-centred and collaborative
approach to therapy, drawing on a range of therapeutic models but
favouring CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), DBT (dialectical
behaviour therapy), REBT (rational emotive behaviour therapy),
Mindfulness and Relapse Prevention models because of their proven
success in brief therapeutic work (typically 1-12 sessions). These
best practice models are client-friendly, active and collaborative.
We focus on the goals that matter to you, identify the blocks
getting in your way and share the target of helping you to manage
and overcome your current daily struggles and insecurities. If you
are motivated to work on your problems, this focused approach will
make your targets easily understandable and achievable; without
losing sight of often long-standing underlying causes.
I aim to provide a contained, non-judgmental
place for clients to feel respected, safe and empowered to make
changes. Secure online platforms allow a trusted therapeutic
relationship to develop with the added comfort and convenience of
the client’s chosen location.
I bring experience working with individuals, running groups and
teaching professionals on:
- Anxiety (generalized, social, OCD and
panic)
- Stress
- Anger management and control
- Assertiveness
- Alcohol (excessive use, contemplating
change, relapse prevention)
- Addictive behaviours
- Depression
- Life-stage difficulties (parenting,
retirement, bereavement, illness diagnosis, adjustment to moving
house/country, interpersonal and relationship problems
My practice is bound by the established
professional guidelines governing confidentiality and ethical
practice held by the British Psychological Society, equivalent
French and European Professional bodies and current Data Protection
laws.
