COUNSELLING &
HYPNOTHERAPY:
Hello there ….. my name is Jacqueline Spence. Supporting and enabling a
person to grow beyond his/her personal difficulties is a subject close
to my heart.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling. The course I studied was
integrative with person-centred core values. Whilst I have
been
trained in the use of Cognitive Behavioural and Brief Solution Focused
models along with Gestalt, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis my
style of counselling is Person-Centred, Client led. This way of working
ensures that the client progresses at a pace he/she feels comfortable
with.
I am an advocate of personal therapy and over the years I have
experienced the counselling styles of three different counsellors which,
I feel, has enabled me not only to grow as an individual, but also to
enhance my own counselling practice.
I have worked as a professional counsellor within a GP Practice and have
also been one of a bank of counsellors working with disadvantaged
sixteen to twenty-five year olds. Alongside my other counselling
commitments, I worked on a voluntary basis for the Churches’ Counselling
Service in Wales, a Charity, which offers counselling to all, regardless
of personal beliefs.
I now work solely in Private Practice and I abide by the ethical
framework for good practice as set out by the B.A.C.P. My own values
are in alignment with the fundamental values of counselling, which
include:
- Respecting human rights and
dignity
- Ensuring integrity in
client-counsellor relationships
- Alleviating personal distress
and suffering
- Increasing personal
effectiveness
- Enhancing the quality of
relationships between people
- Appreciating the variety of
human experience and culture
Complementary to my Counselling
qualification I also hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy. I have worked as a
Hypnotherapist both in private practice and in a complementary medical
centre set up by a group of GPs. I am dedicated to the professional and
ethical use of Hypnosis and I have satisfied the Hypnotherapy Control
Board of my knowledge and competence in the safe and proper use of
Hypnosis. All hypnotic and post-hypnotic suggestions are so worded that
the effect can only be beneficial to you.
I work from my home as I feel this offers my clients a more relaxed and
open atmosphere in which to explore their thoughts. I am situated on the
edge of St Nicolas du Pelem, a small village near Rostrenen in area
22. For those living in other areas or not able to travel, I offer
online counselling through the medium of Skype.
Having made the move to France, I am aware of the anxieties and
loneliness which can often be experienced in moving to a foreign
country. A move which necessitates learning to live in a different
culture and speak a different language.

you would wish it to be, contact me on 02 96 29 70 37. I can also be contacted via the following email
