My name is Bob McGowan,
I am a therapist from Montreal, Canada, currently living in
Paris, France. I am a registered social worker with the
OTSTCFQ in Canada, and I am currently completing my clinical
hours, education, and supervision to become a member of the
OPQ as a registered psychotherapist in Canada. I worked
extensively as a psychiatric social worker with a community
psychiatric clinic and have extensive knowledge of mental
health disorder treatment, as well as medical treatment
limitations. I have my Master's of Social Work (MSW) from
McGill University.
Among many symptoms, I can help with depression, anxiety,
addiction, ADHD, life transitions, stress management,
identity questioning, emotional regulation, and increasing a
sense of presence and mindfulness. In my practice, I
integrate systemic theory, narrative-based approaches, EFT,
IFS, DBT, the Gottman Method, and somatic teachings, rooted
in trauma-informed care. I work with teenagers and adults,
and I particularly love working with couples. I have a lot
of experience working with queer and gender-diverse
individuals/couples.
I am meeting with clients in person in the 11e
arrondissement of Paris, just outside the Saint Sebastien -
Froissart metro station on the 8th line. I also see clients
virtually.
