Please consider joining this section as there is a great need in
France for support groups and listeners. Being a listener can be very rewarding and can be of help to both the supporter and the supported. In a foreign country where language and isolation can be the highest barriers, losing a loved one, a friend or even a pet can be devastating. Very often, we just need someone to talk to, to share how we feel so that we don't feel so alone with our pain. If you feel that you could be someone who could be at the end of a phone or email, please send us your details. We will do our best to make sure that you aren't open to being contacted at all hours or dealing with carrying someone else's sorrow all by yourself. We have an online secure meeting rooms facility for Counselling In France (provided by www.securemeetingcentre.com) and will organise regular online meetings to support and advise anyone who would like to offer this rôle as listener as well as email support for anyone without ADSL/Broadband.

We would suggest that you only show your name, area and an anonymous email i.e.

Once you get to know someone, you may want to give them your phone number or address but we will not show phone numbers online

Contact Anne HERE for a preliminary chat or to volunteer.

N.B. If you run a social group where caring and friendship is the main ingredient, please consider letting us advertise it for you - we will make clear that it is not primarily a social group rather than a bereavement group.
