Background
I trained as a Counselling Psychologist at the Roehampton Institute with Michael Carroll and Maya O’Brien. I went on to work as a counsellor in London for 15 years.
I set up a counselling service for people with physical disabilities, with funding from Croydon Social Services, which I left in 1994 in order to work full time as a student counsellor. At the same time I ran a private practice from a health and yoga centre in South London.
During those 15 years I also worked as a supervisor and trainer.
I came to France in 2004 to develop an interest in eco-psychology and a long term plan to set up a secular retreat. In the meantime I am working with the elderly and the terminally ill and running a small-holding with my partner.
The belief that underpins my work is that you can’t take a client further than you are prepared to go yourself.
