What is brief
therapy?
Brief therapy is an approach to therapy that is focused, short, and
effective. It is aimed at bringing change to your life and is based on
your strengths. It is focused more on the future than the past, although
in the dynamic approach that I use, you come with your history.
I have been trained in psychoanalysis throughout my university education
and beyond. However, I am not a psychoanalyst neither I use a specific
analytical oriented method but rather field relevant techniques that
adapt to specific needs.
I have been practicing brief therapy for a long time. I do believe in
brief therapy so much more so now that we live geared to a continuous
demand of what’s next from within and from our environment.

How does it work?
Sessions take place once a week and last 45 minutes. The length of the
therapy depends on many factors, but it usually does not exceed one
year.
I charge 60€ for a 45 minute session. I have a sliding scale for
students who pay for their therapy, either because they need it, or as
part of their training.
Appointments are available weekdays afternoons, evenings, and on
Saturdays (morning only).

Educational Background
I have been practicing Brief Psychotherapy for many years.
My B.A. in Psychology is from the University of Uruguay, and I hold two
Masters in Clinical Psychology, one from the Xaveriana University in
Colombia and another one from Paris VII. I also hold a Master in
Cross-Cultural psychology from Paris X. My Ph.D. is from Bordeaux 2
University.
My therapeutic psychoanalysis was completed with a member of the Paris
Society of Psychoanalysis (SPP). But because I believe the therapeutic
approach has to address the specific needs of an individual, I have done
different trainings in the fields of psychotherapy, such as Psychodrama,
Solution Focused Approach, and Brief Therapy.
I am a registered psychologist in Paris. In addition to my private
practice, I do research in the field of Cross-cultural psychology and
have run Cross-Cultural programs for many years in Asia and in Paris.
I am an active member of several psychology organizations, where I can
act as psychologist, for example at SOS-Psychologue, or as a member,
such as Syndicat National de Psychologues, Société Française de
Psychologie, Psy en Mouvement.
