Hi my name is Karen Morrison, I am a qualified Counsellor living in the Normandy ( Eure 27 ) with my partner, I am originally from Scotland. I have a 14 year old son and two step daughters 17 and 18 years old.

I gained a postgraduate Diploma in Person - Centred Counselling in 2000 and have worked in a variety of settings within the NHS, Charity Organisations and Private Practice. I work with adults and young people either face to face or on the telephone. I am able to see clients at my home or arrange counselling via the telephone. My initial session which can last up to 50 minutes is free.

I am a qualified trainer in the area of Sexual Health and Relationships. I worked in a young persons clinic, counselling and outreach work offering education sessions to young people. I also compiled and facilitated training programmes for teachers, nurses, social workers, foster carers and telephone helpline workers, to help them work more effectively with the young people in their care in the area of sexual health and relationships. Further training on the subject of suicide intervention has helped me worked sensitively with a large number of clients who had or are having suicidal thoughts.

I also worked in two large comprehensive schools in Scotland counselling students and offering guidance and advice to teaching staff. The aim of the counselling service was to counsel students about a wide range of topics that would help them free up issues both within and outside school life so that they were more able to focus on their studies. Recent research published in school based counselling services highlighted that both staff and students found the counselling service a valuable part of the school culture.
