HENRY
BUNGENER
I am a counsellor, clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. I trained initially in France in clinical psychology followed by a PhD then undertook the psychoanalytic training at the British Institute of Psychoanalysis (internationally recognised). In London I also trained at the Tavistock Clinic in therapeutic work with families and children and later became a visiting teacher. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have trained and supervised counsellors and psychotherapists. I work with adults with a range of difficulties. I always keep some work with children as there is often a need with few psychodynamic resources available and it makes me keep in mind several developmental strands at the same time. After an initial assessment period the client and I will see what type of work is preferable: Some clients need counselling, others brief work, others want to shift something more in depth about themselves and will chose a more intensive rhythm of sessions others might be parents wanting a consultation concerning their child or consultations for marital problems. I moved from London to Avignon in Sept 2005. My origins in both Anglo-Saxon and French cultures, is often an advantage when working with people trying to come to grips with a French environment. Having enjoyed teaching in London in different settings such as the Tavistock Clinic and the Westminster Pastoral Foundation, I would also welcome any request from counsellors or psychotherapists wanting further training… (individual supervision, clinical or theory seminars or infant observation). I work in Avignon: Espace Vernet, 22bis
