I provide a number of different
therapeutic services aimed at addressing in the most
effective way the range of issues that a person may be
confronted with. These include:

Individual work
You meet with me
weekly at an agreed time for a number of exploratory sessions after
which time a decision is then mutually agreed as to what further
counselling or psychotherapy would be appropriate.
Couple work
This
aims to allow
individuals to work together in a neutral setting over a period of
time, in order to explore and understand how difficulties have
arisen and how these may be resolved.
Who can benefit?
In short, it is of benefit to anyone wishing to
engage in a psychotherapy because of life-difficulties, typically in
the area of
either love or work.
Sometimes we know what the problem is but can't work our way out of
it without help. Sometimes we are in suffering but find it
impossible to say what the origin is. Things are just not right with
us. This could well be a quite recent developement, but equally may
have been ongoing for a number of years or more.
Some difficulties have an
unconscious
source, rooted in past experience. Psychotherapy which pays due
attention to the underlying unconscious mechanisms that determine
and produce such symptoms, provides a space to allow for less
painful forms of expression. We welcome those suffering from
symptoms such as
anxiety,
depression, stress, obsessions, inhibitions, phobias
as well as those experiencing
sexual difficulties, crises in
work or love, bereavements and loss, separations and social
difficulties .

About me
I am an
experienced and qualified therapist, working with people in private
practice since 1992. I hold a Masters Sc. psychotherapy and
undertook a long psychoanalytic training. For a time, I taught
psychoanalytic theory and practice at Trinity College Dublin and DBS
College and clinical case studies on the Master of Psychotherapy at
the School of Psychotherapy, St. Vincent ’s
University Hospital. I was editor of the psychoanalytic journal THE
LETTER. I also supervised therapists in their clinical work. I'm a
founder member of CPI and remain a registered practitioner with that
body. Before coming to France I had the good fortune to have spent a
number of years as a practitioner and a director of DUBH LINN centre
for counselling and psychotherapy in Dublin. These days I'm happy to
be confining myself to therapeutic work with people in distress.
