ANNE POULTON

I am based in the UK and live in France for six months of the year, on the borders of Vienne 86 and Haute-Vienne 87. Counselling is my second career and my training is as a person-centred counsellor. I gained my Diploma In Professional Counselling at the International Institute Of Counselling and Professional Development in Plymouth. I did a three month placement as a counsellor in a doctors' surgery in Torbay before qualifying and then worked as a generic counsellor for the Community Mental Health team in South Devon for many years, seeing clients referred by the team and local doctors' surgeries. I also co-led anxiety management and anger management groups with the occupational therapist based on the Community Mental Health team.

I moved to Kent early in 1994 with my husband and family where I worked as a volunteer counsellor for Dover Counselling Centre for a while before being employed by the East Kent Schools Counselling Service, working in primary and secondary schools throughout East Kent, seeing both teachers and children between five years and nineteen years. I also worked one day a week for the Department of Child and Family Therapy in Canterbury.

I offer a free assessment session of one hour to see if we can work together and then charge:

  • 20 euros for an hour for adults, teenagers or children (play therapy available for under 5s)

  • 25 euros for an hour for couples

  • 15 euros for an hour for adults and couples on webcam/secure chat room

If you would find it hard to pay, please tell me as I can negotiate.  The downloadable contract is different for children and I am happy to travel to see children in their own homes, which is preferable.
All my fees go towards professional insurance and the website maintenance costs.
